Christmas Pt III

Christmas Dinner: The Final Frontier

I was invited by Desiree's Mother to join their family at Christmas dinner in Carson. Seeing as this happens once in a....once, I went for it. Having had a quiet Christmas Eve night and Christmas day, the pace of their family was different, but a good different. Having the quiet morning made it so I wasn't worn out by the early afternoon.

Meeting her family, most I already have met, was fun and a nice experience. We sat down, watched tv, played video games, board games, and of course I taught people how to play poker. Aren't I the best influence? First time meeting me, I teach you how to gamble.

Christmas Pt II

Christmas Afternoon at the Grandparents'
Woke up late Christmas morning(afternoon) and got ready to go. Put my Christmas outfit on and headed out the door. It's always been family tradition to go to the Grandparents' house on Christmas day, even when we were together Christmas eve. It was a beautiful day, a little cold, but clear skies all around. Family from norcal was down so I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to say hello.

Christmas Pt. I

Christmas Eve at the Home

053

Short shift at work felt like a long day at work. Turned out chill. Even though I missed the party Brittany Tadlock was hosting. (She's the work-wife too..) Handed out a few things at work and got a few things in return. Said Merry Christmas to the Guys Night crew and headed home.

Mosly a quiet night. But it was nice to be home knowing I would be off Christmas day. It also let me think about what the holidays really are-and if you don't know, then you should think about it too.

033

048

It is definitely about the kids. Let them be happy before the world messes them up.

057

It's about what brings families together. Food.

...and its just about kickin it. With the people you care about.

I May Have Just Fallen in Love

...with @Thai Bbq.

If you're ever in the Murrieta/Temecula area. Or if you're even thinking about Thai food, there is only one place you need to go.

Growing up going to their sister restaurant in Cerritos, I knew it would be an instant reminder of childhood memories when this place opened up. The owners are amazing people. Nice, funny and hardworking; not to mention they make amazing food.

Desiree and I have stumbled into this place a few times over the years and Sammy's has a great take on what a pizza should be. Simple and healthy dough and sauce topped with fresh and expensive toppings.

The pizza we order may change, but the appetizer is always the same. Lobster, shrimp and artichoke dip. I'm fine with just eatin this.

Night in the Other Side

Those Drinks Better Be Worth It...

195

I was left with a major decision. To get $3 margaritas or not. The catch? The bar is in hillcrest. For those of you that don't know (because the first time i went there i didn't) Hillcrest is San Diego's premier Gay community.

Little Background info: A customer at work had heard I frequent San Diego. She tells me about El Indio, which from the first blog entry, you found out is amazing. She also tells me about Hillcrest saying, "oh, get out of la jolla and all the old people, go to hillcrest thats where everybody's at." Was she being serious? Did she think i was...? So eventually we went. We hit up a Mexican bar with 2 for 1 drink specials. Looking around, kickin it, then BAM! it hits me. Everyone is "friendly."

So now back to the lecture at hand...we decide to go. Crazy traffic. Desiree falls asleep from the car ride. Find parking. The bar (which I will not name since we didn't go) is closed for a company party! bust. So we drive off, park in the pants of hillcrest and walk around.
